Shepherd’s Bush

Shepherd’s Bush opened in 1900 on the Central line. One possible derivation for the name was a resting place for shepherds on their way to market in the City of London at Smithfield. For many years the BBC had studios in the area. The brooch is a porcelain sheep created by Cathie Streator at Patchwork People Pins (Ohio, USA).

Trivia In Mongolia, a traditional hangover cure was to eat a pickled sheep’s eye in a glass of tomato juice.
